Staying Home with Heart Failure is a free online course that gives you a basic understanding of heart failure and its management. It also provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to manage your heart disease. We’ll discuss the risk factors for heart disease and high blood pressure (hypertension) and give you effective strategies to manage each.
This course is intended for anyone diagnosed with heart failure or who struggles to manage the condition (and their family or friends!). Healthcare professionals who want to learn more about heart failure and heart health will also benefit from taking this course.
This course is divided into several modules covering different topics about heart failure and managing your heart health. Each module is broken down into individual lessons that include text and video lessons and PowerPoint slides.
This course is taught using fun, animated videos, PowerPoint presentations, text materials, and practical activities. You will have access to downloadable handouts containing information and worksheets. You’ll also find links to educational material by other reputable resources, such as the American Heart Association.
Soon! This course will include training on home blood pressure monitoring, where you’ll learn about the equipment, techniques, and best practices for blood pressure tracking.
You have the option of completing quizzes at the end of each module. When all the materials are completed, you’ll also have the option to take a final assessment covering the entire curriculum. These assessments are optional and are designed to test the knowledge you’ve gained to ensure you’ve understood and can apply the course content.
